RAVEN’S STORY

Raven Smith attended Bethel Christian Academy from kindergarten through twelfth grade.  She graduated on June 1 as the Valedictorian of her class having obtained a cumulative GPA of 3.73 throughout her high school years.  Her SAT scores also have been ranked within the top 3% of the entire nation of students her age.

Pastor Sutton, the school principal, said this at Raven’s commencement ceremony: “We have not seen many students go all the way from kindergarten to twelfth grade, but we had the privilege of seeing Raven go all the way through… She may be the hardest working student we have ever had.  She doesn’t just do well; she does excellent in whatever she does.  I have no doubt that she will do great in college.”

 

Raven said in her commencement address, “I appreciate the teachers here at Bethel.  They are teachers who teach by example.  I have learned so much both inside and outside the classroom.”

 

Next fall, she will attend college in her mother’s hometown, Philadelphia.  Her course of study will be biology, but she specifically would like to study ophthalmology.  Not only does Bethel not hold students back from going far as they can go for the college of their choice but will also prepare them to make it.
